TEATRO DELLE ALBE ARRIVES IN NEW YORK

Teatro delle Albe lands in New York City for two days of talks Thursday at La Mama Experimental Theater and Friday at Casa Italiana Zerilli Marimò, NYU where Marco Martinelli and Ermanna Montanari, two of the most important protagonists of the Italian contemporary theater, will share their work with the American audience. The event, part of the Italian Playwrights Project will focus on the research that Martinelli and Montanari have been doing for the past two years on Dante and his poem “The Divine Comedy”.

Martinelli and Montanaro founded Teatro delle Albe in 1983. The conversation will be joined by Federico Rampini, US Chief Correspondent of La Repubblica, Frank Hentschker, Director of the Martin Segal Center, Valeria Orani Director of Umanism LLC and the Italian-American actor Rocco Sisto (known for its roles in movies such as Donnie Brasco, Carlito’s Way and the TV show “Sopranos). Sisto will read “Rumore di Acque” translated into English by Thomas Simpson.
